BROWN MARMORATED STINK BUG FUMIGATION REQUIRED FOR SHIPMENTS TO AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND

Are you shipping goods to Australia or New Zealand between now and May 31, 2021?

The Brown Marmorated Stink Bug (BMSB) is an invasive agriculture pest that has been readily causing damage to crops. To protect against this pest, mandatory fumigation is required for high risk goods shipped now through April 30, 2021 (New Zealand), or May 31, 2021 (Australia).

Fumigating at origin in the U.S. saves time and money for your customers in Australia and New Zealand. Ports in these countries are congested and have back logs for fumigation. These delays put U.S. imports at risk for additional demurrage and detention costs as containers have to wait for fumigation to complete prior to AU/NZ Customs clearance and delivery.

Did you know?

Laufer Group International provides an innovative transloading solution in Kansas City, MO, that includes fumigation services. Located next to the KCS Rail and five minutes from the CSX rail, this indoor winter facility has an 18-container capacity that uses Methyl Bromide to meet BMSB requirements. This can help you save time and money on your AU/NZ exports.
